Avoid sudden changes in pressure or cross-flow rates on spiral components during startup, shutdown, cleaning, or other sequences to prevent membrane damage. During startup, gradually transition from a stopped state to an operating state as follows: Feed pressure should gradually increase over a period of 30-60 seconds. It is advisable to discard the first hour of filtered water during operation.
